in His image. The key to understanding human identity is not to be found in our supposed links with animal-like ancestors, but rather in our personhood, which forever links us to God. Life in Eden (Genesis 2). At first, life in Eden preserved and enriched the link between God and man. There, God fashioned Eve from Adam’s substance, and Adam realized that they both shared God’s image and a common identity as human beings. There too Adam and Eve explored their potential as persons made in God’s image.
